Lafleen in the Today House!
Growing up in a household that was transplanted from Long Island, NY automatically assigned the Yankees as my favorite baseball team. My Godmother was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan before she passed which made me naturally a Cowboys fan. As I have grown to love baseball and appreciate football, I make my own favorite decisions. In May of 2000 I visited Chicago for the first time and was delighted to sit 5th row behind home plate at Comiskey Park, then, and now U.S. Cellular Field. Back before that fateful September day of ‘01 and before the base coaches were pummeled by bad examples of baseball fans, one could buy an upper deck ticket and roam around the whole park and sit wherever there was space. Unfortunately for the White Sox that year, attendance was waaaaaay down, but fortunately for me, I got the best seat in the house. That day baseball found a permanent place in my heart. For football purposes, I am a Bears fan and this year I actually followed at least the home games (there are only 8), but I have been a longtime fan of Bob Costas so for the past few years since having HBO and Tivo, I would watch Inside the NFL even though I didn’t really watch or even care about football. Tragically, yes tragically HBO canceled that delightful square table. There is a difference when your team wins, but the loyalty has to be there for me if I’m gonna care about any team, winner or loser. I will take views on all different sports, some not in great detail, but I will most likely post the White Sox score or some info about their daily outings or goings on because I can. Thanks for stopping by and here’s hoping for a sports best!!!
